Summer theater returns to Somers this weekend. Seussical the Musical, based on the books of Dr. Seuss, is slated for three shows at Kennedy Catholic with shows at 7:30 on on August 13 and 14 and at 2:00 on August 15.
Seussical debut on Broadway was in 2000. It features two of Dr Seuss’ most loved characters -- Horton the Elephant and the Cat in the Hat -- as well as many others. This production is by the Hope Players, a community theater group that raises money for Breast Cancer research. The cast includes more than 50 high school and college students from Westchester County who are volunteering their time to entertain for a worthy cause.
The show is for the young and not so young. The Hope Players’s web site says:
Whether smaller than small, or the biggest of all,
See Seussical the Musical - and don't you stall!
Let the Cat in the Hat take you on an adventure
your whole family will love - from diaper to denture!
