Somers Resident Named To Westchester Charter Commission

Sam Zherka, a critic of County government, publisher of the Westchester Guardian newspaper, and resident of Somers, NY, was named to the 23-member citizen-run Westchester County Charter Revision Commission.  Westchester Legislator Mike Kaplowitz, D-Somers selected him.  According to LoHud.com, Legislator Kaplowitz said: "He certainly has a point of view that needs to be heard.  He's a smart fellow."  The Charter Revision Commission will review the current form of County government and recommend changes. The panel will hold public hearings and its report to the Board of Legislators is due by April 2012.
